This allowed us to take Sun. off and explore the grounds. The land was purchased in the 1930's and the property was much larger than I thought. We were allowed access to the whole place. One of the things we noticed was the huge amount of animal traffic, since there hasn't been hunting in decades. We observed this by all the tracks across the roads, certainly not from any actual sightings. They sure can make themselves scarce. The amount of snake tracks across the roads, mostly the wide fat viper ones prevented us from romping around in the tall grass. The place is pretty rich in Native history, hence the museum. We're looking forward to going back in Nov. when it's a tad cooler. |
