| partners | | Great night to be outside. The storms stayed south of us, but the clouds made for some dramatic views before it got dark. There was a single lightning strike while we were at the highest point of the hike (of course), but otherwise the cool breeze and a few stray sprinkles were the highlight of the weather story on the night.
Some of the group opted for a shorter trip to get home early, and I gladly volunteered to join on the shorter trip without shame. So we all ended up skipping the extra 2.5 miles and 1000 feet on the Corona Loop.
Back at the trailhead, it was good to see Widowmaker who had started early and stayed ahead of us, the only one who actually did the Corona Loop today!  |
