Went out on a great hike today. Lots of water features and at times thought I heard the sound of airplanes, but turned out to be roaring waterfalls. A great surprise which did not make seem right at first because of the rarity. Went on to discover some mines while being attracted by the tailings. Found one that had a vertical shaft.......deep. I dropped a rock into it, counted to ten and it kerplunked into water....how deep would that be ? Also found a fresh Gold Placer Claim, and I mean fresh, dated 1-2-2008. The backcountry drive to access this also makes for a special day. Saw no one the entire day.
