| partners | | Summary: it was cold.
Details: I'd never done Randolph, Fraser, or this end of either Coffee Flat nor Red Tanks. Believe it or not, I had never even been to the Woodbury trailhead before!
It burned. But it's green now. There was nice flow in the main canyons and many of the side drainages. In theory there was no reason to get our feet wet, but the plentiful sneaky quicksand had enough surprises that we all fell victim at some point along the loop.
Rare sheltered spots allowed the sunstar to provide a moment of warmth, but for the most part the gale-force arctic wind kept us all in full appreciation of these non-115 degree desert days. The drive on 172 was mostly pooey start to finish. Ryan's Subi made it with only a few slips and beeps though. Wow, the artillery crowd is set on destroying the desert out there. |

| | | The HAZ location for this doesn't match the map location? The map location is barely dripping. Can't envision it ever providing a good source of water. Adjacent creek was flowing nicely, so it doesn't matter right now. |
