my climbing partners had never been up picketpost
we've driven by and commented a number of times, so today it was on
70 degrees at the trailhead with a 5:45 start
low humidity and shade the entire ascent made for pleasant conditions even in july
felt a little pressure route finding, as i've always followed john
with some assistance from mike, we did just fine, preferring to figure it out rather than check the track
there were quite a few wasps in the upper steep section
spent awhile on the summit admiring the views and enjoying a nice breeze
headed down and saw just two others on their way up
went into superior for a big girl breakfast at the buckboard city café
should have taken a picture of my chicken fried steak :lol:

a fun combo and we got out of town for the morning
did this almost exactly a year ago with denny and john, and it was slightly warmer and a lot more humid
love this hike
