noticed devastator trail whenever i look at the south mountain map on haz
finally got around to checking it out this morning
it runs from the south mountain ave dead end up to mormon loop
an alternative to mormon trailhead
obvious trail, perhaps suffering from some erosion due to last night's storm
just under a mile to where it tops out at mormon loop, so i did the loop with national and came back down devastator
will post some pics of trail and parking area
not sure how often or how long i'd want to leave my vehicle there, although it's a nice enough neighborhood
sunny and humid this morning
saw two people: one hiker and one mountain biker
two chuckwallas and a desert iguana
what I've been thinking are smaller desert iguanas are something else; will have to get a photo for id
had fun doing something different but can't say as i will utilize this trail very often
