Go Yotes we need to keep winning. As my smart Tucson friend once told me, the temporal lobes coordinate specific functions including visual memory. While you're driving down the road and Picketpost comes into view, your temporal lobes start firing. It is a site to behold. When you get to the trailhead, your frontal lobes take over as you plan your route and try to manage your emotions and impulse control.
About halfway up, I hear laughter. I turn around and can see a couple below. On my way down, I spoke to them briefly and they said we could see your orange shirt on and off. I was their human cairn.
On the summit, I met 2 people and ran into a group of 3 on the way down and another group of two and another solo hiker. Weather was awesome and the conversations were top notch. There is now a sign for the turnoff off of the AZT. |
