Had picketpost on my mind after yesterday’s change of plan, opted to do the summit and explore Arnett Canyon, save the circumference when my daughter in law can join. Saw no one on the summit route until passing a couple just above the drainage, 4 others coming down near the top and 2 young ladies at the top. On the way down the same 2 young ladies were on a bad descent route and called out for help. I did an imitation of a distant cairn and directed them to me,afterwards they closely followed me until we reached the flat portion of the trail. Stopped by the trailhead for a snack break and then headed toward the arboretum tank and on to Arnett Creek which at least as far as I went had no water . There were a few splotches of fall color in the canyon which shone brightly with the afternoon sun.
