So my next plan was catching "The Boogeyman" flowing in Spring Creek which I encountered firsthand on a descent to Tonto Creek last summer and also of course saw in the "Hucking Huge" films.
Payson received the torrential rainfall that day but all the drainages and side canyons around the rim were surprisingly just a mere trickle.
So again plans changed and I was always curious about a different route to get inside CC Gorge.
I carefully made my way deeper and deeper into the gorge with a few down climbs, major bushwhacking and a lot of determination to see some waterfalls.
Made it down to a rock peninsula that rose about 40ft above the raging silty creek with the power of a river as it roared and thundered down the narrow canyon.
Captured a couple shots I was very pleased with and made it out of the gorge before nightfall and topped off the night with a Pub House Butter Burger from Culver's! |
