| no partners | | Headed down to the heart of this gem via a gnarly drainage that required serious bushwhacking, a handful of exposed downclimbs and your typical logs and rollers like Outlander would say.
It was 6:30 pm when I started my trek so by the time I finally made it into the good part of the gulch the sun was already setting.
I knew I was in for some dark miles heading upstream but I had no idea how tough the battle was going to get!
At one point it made me ask myself why in the fk do you put yourself in these positions as I found my largest unexpected obstacle of the night.
A 40-50 ft trickling waterfall was in direct path of my exit out of there, adrenaline kicked in at this point and I found myself scaling up the sketchy vertical wall at the pace of a squirrel.
After what felt like endless amounts of portaging, bushwhacking and wading I finally made it near home base and I literally kissed the gravel of the dirt road!
With me being me I of course had to go back the following day after torrential rainfall to see that waterfall in its prime but I may have got a little more than what I wanted!
The video below was taken this past Friday and is literally the same place I was hiking inside just 24 hours ago!

I went to CC Gorge that day instead due to safety and access issues but I came back to the gulch this past Monday and lets just say I timed it perfectly!
To be continued...... |
