I survived my first HAZFest. We arrived on Saturday morning with time to make introductions before everyone dispersed on day hikes. We then arrived back at camp, that afternoon, with just enough time to set everything up, before jumping in the vehicle when hail started coming down. A few more introductions were made that evening as everyone returned from hiking or seeking shelter during the worst part of the storm. Major props to Chumley, with help from nonot, for providing such a comfortable environment, despite a stubborn rainfall. We all got wet, but it didn't seem to dampen spirits. The fire eventually grew large enough to create it's own weather and the remainder of the night was enjoyed under clear(ish) skies. Calories were replenished and drinks were enjoyed. It seems a good time was had by all. Nice to meet so many great people, most of you for the first time. Definitely an enjoyable weekend.
