Lots of green and tall ferns everywhere. Interesting with a dog, but Rosie handled it well. Well placed pools along the way kept her cool and happy. Quite a bone yard back there. It was a relief to reach the openness of Beaver Park. We turned to the west and followed Beaver Canyon back up to Rim Rd. Again, well timed water holes kept Rosie cool along the way. Tons of bees and butterflies swarming at the wet spots in the canyon. Not as many trees to hop over on the way out. We spooked 2 coyotes right before the final climb, then walked Rim Rd / Gen Crook back to the vehcile. Only saw 1 car the entire time, which I found odd for July 4th. Drove straight to Knoll for a quick kayak / swim. |
