The road into the trail head shows signs of the recent disastrous flash flood. The road is still accessible by car bur the usual nicely graded gravel road is washed out down to the nylon mesh that was placed below this gravel. The first 2 miles of the trail has been recently maintained(Thanks to all who worked on it). Once past Dude Creek the trail is overgrown but still easy to follow. Only gets a little difficult along Dry Dude creek, GPS helped a lot. All the creeks were running especially Dude Creek, Bonita and Perley Creek. Flash flooding has eroded the trail at Bonita Creek such that there is a 10 foot drop from the trail to the stream bed. Reached Perley Creek and returned. |
