| no partners | | Forecast of thunderstorms in Huachuca forced us to cancel our backpack plan Thursday night. We decided on this day hike instead in Flagstaff where there was no rain on Friday. I got just below the cirque last time and had to turn back due to frozen snow in the chute and the thunderstorm. This time the weather was perfect. I was surprised how quiet the Inner Basin trail was on our way up. Only passed one group. We didn't see anyone else until later in the afternoon when we came back down. There were quite a few downfalls on the Waterline road. No springs were flowing. Apparently Wiski ate a bunch of mushrooms on the way up - good thing she threw it all up when we took our lunch break in the cirque. We explored and chilled out for an hour before heading back down. A great day away from the valley heat. |
