| no partners | | Wanted to do Inner Basin for Autumn and the timing seemed right. Like the Mogollon Rim, I was wrong about it this year. Too early. There was some Gold, but not where it had the most impact for Photos. I decided since I was there, I'd try doing the Cirque Hike, but after not having done any Hiking for the entire month of September, I ran out of gas and time at Flagstaff Spring. I'll have to try it when there's an hour or more of daylight than there is now and I'm in slightly better shape again. Between the birds and some of the yellow and gold that was around, I took quite a few photos anyway. Was surprised to see Lockett Meadow Tank almost bone dry. Just a few small puddles that kept the birds coming in. It was still a good day, I was overdue to get some more mileage in.
I'd do a more complete Water Report if the Springs were actually exposed where you can see them. Almost all were piped and boxed in. Some of them I could hear water in and some I couldn't. |

Autumn Foliage Observation Light Not Prime Time enroute to Inner Basin. Switchbacks are still all green up to and including Waterline road mostly. Some Gold on Waterline headed up to Basin. Most slopes gold in Basin, but trees in Basin itself are still green. Some Gold on Trail to Flagstaff Spring. |
