| partners | | Didn't know I was working with t_d_singletree in the food booth. Nice to meet you. Another person when we were having introductions said, "Oh, you're A Romain"; he apparently follows my videos .
Anyway, it rained the nite before and was threatening all day but we didn't get any rain until the event was over at 2 and it was only a light shower. The 4th Annual Arizona Trail Days Flagstaff Event set up started at 7 AM though I didn't have to be there until 8:30 for my 2 hour food shift that ended up being for the whole event other than a lunch break and a photography break. Wendy asked me to take photos of the set up and then off and on. It's amazing how long and how hard it can be to get all of the booths set up for this short event. While we had a decent turnout, I'm just sorry more people didn't come out to enjoy it; maybe the threatening weather had something to do with it. This event is totally manned by volunteers of course and this year we had ample.
I think the hit of the day was Shawn's sawing and branding booth area. You'll have to see the pictures and maybe if he sees this triplog he can comment about it. Basically two of you use a long saw to cut a piece of circular wood which you then take over to the branding area where the AZT logo is burned into the wood. Very cool. I didn't get a list of the vendors and booths so I can only list the ones I remember:- Arizona Trail
and boards with the AZT trails on them for sticky notes that you could add commentary about specific trails

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
