It has been a week since I was hiking and I was getting the itch (No don't need to see a doctor, just need to get out and walk). Didn't want to travel far so I picked a trail in Patagonia that was just about 50 miles away. This is a portion of the Arizona Trail that follows along a road between trails. The OCD in me says this has to be done so I decided to do it so It wouldn't keep me up at night. I started really early in the morning, about 6:00 AM so I could be done by 10:00. This portion is 5 miles long making it a 10 mile round trip. The temperature by the time I finished was already at 86 degrees, getting a bit warm for me.

I decided to take Harshaw Creek instead of walking along Harshaw Road, the plan was great for about 1/3 mile then barbed wire fences and homes indicating private property. I decided to get back on the road and just follow it like the GPS indicated. Kind of uneventful hike all the way to the turn around point on Temporal Canyon Road near Fresno Spring (I hiked this last portion of the road late last year). The only excitement on this trip was being pulled over by the Sheriff for running what I believe is the only stop sign in Patagonia (the only stop sign on the road I was on). Ironically I have a picture I took while hiking through Patagonia and that stop sign is there plain as day, don't know what I was thinking. Anyway after doing the usual checks he let me off with a warning.

Last week I mentioned I finished up the Arizona Trail in both directions but there was this little stretch of road I never did. Well I can now sleep better knowing I finished up this portion of the Arizona Trail. Actually now that I think about it there was this one trail my GPS says I turned around about 100 yards too soon, leaving this little 100 yard section undone. Damn, this will bother me.
