For a more complete triplog of Valley Forge see the excellent one by kingsnake which I just now read. I drove into the park passed the visitor center not open at 0700 ,past the memorial arch and parked near the base of Mount Joy. Started between the artillery park and redoubt 3 and roughly following the J.P. Martin "we were determined to persevere" trail to the Schuylkill River and Washington's headquarters and returning the same way several stops along the way to take pictures and to orient, despite being very windy I enjoyed this brief outing. |
