| no partners | | An area that deserves more attention, again one that was on the list but a low priority. Circumstances changed my destination and as I drove to this area I decided to explore.
Many old mines, some on private land, some not, so stealth is the rule. Good limestone in the area too, good solutioning so cave possibility also.
Camped in an area of processing in the past. Stark, favored by target shooters, with a spongy red mountain dotted with tiny rock. The source area had some large boulders smattered with metallic colors, pretty but I suppose some value which is why it was ground up.
The adits were many, perhaps as many as 20, I did them all, a couple were more extensive and interesting. Walking along the limestone faces yielded other finds too. I quite enjoyed it, burning thru a couple of headlamp batteries, but that is what it is all about.
Since I was in a bright pink shirt my return will involve more subdued colors and a hidden car park spot. |
