| no partners | | This was a quick in and out, as a storm was coming in. Off the old access of NM hwy 57 ( a well maintained dirt road for the oil and gas trucks) to Chaco canyon. If you don't have directions look for the tiny wilderness study signs about 13.5 miles down the road from Hwy 550. It was hard to find a pull off as the road was bermed up so much. I found a grader cut and used that. It looks to be bentonite clay badlands, but since I hiked only an hour or so didn't really touch the heart of it. I will be back, with more time and better weather forecast. |
