Both have their interesting bits, but I have to say I really enjoyed the Goat Camp to Willow Canyon. Goat Camp has some rough sections heading up into the mountain, but for most part was a very nice easy trail looping along the mountain side up towards the base of the radio towers. With the recent rains there was nice amount of moisture on the ground and air adding to that classic desert smell. I was also greeted by a family of coyotes. One had to be within of a quarter mile of me because of loud he/she was coming it. Though I squinted as best I could, I saw nothing. Maybe next time. Anyway, once again getting out past the 2 mile mark there was total solitude and stayed that for most part on Goat Camp. Once the turn down Willow Canyon was made quite a bit more people and mountain bikers showed. Next time I may have to combine Goat Camp with Ford Canyon. |
