Made a half day trip out to one of my Superstition favorites, La Barge Box. Started at the Boulder Canyon TH at Canyon Lake. Took an hour and a half to reach the Box. There I met a couple backpackers, Don and Andi. Both are Michiganders like myself. We talked, shared stories for about 45 minutes before I moved on and continued poking around the Box area.

When I returned, Don and Andi were almost complete packing up their camp. I said goodbye and started my way boulder-hopping back towards Canyon Lake. Again, it took me about one and a half hours for the same stretch of the route.

This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee.
