| no partners | | A friend at work did this recently and told me about it, so I decided to go try it. I was getting tired of the trips out to the west side so I thought it would be a nice change of pace to go back to the Supes again. I always thought this was a lot more off trail than what it actually is. The only really section that I would say is off trail is the spur going down towards the roost. Everything else is faint, but still definitely a trail. I'm glad I finally got to go check this area out. The roost was pretty interesting. I got as far as the last dropoff where you can see the tree below. There were some belts/ropes around there that looked like they were meant to help you back up. I wasn't about to try to make that last descent while hiking by myself. To much that could wrong. And I doubt I would have tried with with anyone else around.
By the time I got back to Fremont Saddle, it was already after 10am, and I stared about 6:30am. I was originally planning to head out to the tree off the Cave Trail overlooking Weaver's Needle, but I decided to just head back on the Peralta Trail and get home. Saw the usual crowds along Peralta, but not too bad since it was Easter. I think this was first time in over 10 years I've walked down the Peralta Trail, usually I do some kind of loop after walking up it. |
