Thanks to some help from a Hike Az member I figured out i climbed Thompson peak. Its the peak with all the radio towers on top. If you follow the directions listed in the trail description for McDowell entering in from the scottsdale side you will find yourself in a wash at the base of this peak. There is no trail from here. I just followed a wash straigt up. Very difficult hike. not easy for route finding and I found myself searching for the easiest way a couple times. Well worth the effort.
