| no partners | | Easily the best hike ever! I didn't do enough research before I headed out so the trail head was much farther in than expected which lead to a later than anticipated start. Finding the start to the trail was also a little tricky but after I got going navigating was OK. A little advice, start out early so you have time to do lots of exploration in the area down near the ruins. You can get a little side tracked in the open area near the windmill. if you head just to the left of the cow watering hole just before the windmill you should be able to pick up the JF. trail. be prepared the trail is pretty overgrown with catclaw and hackbery trees when you reach the bottom of the canyon, I got pretty scratched up. it's not bad getting to the ruins but remember once you go down you must come back up. The effort is far worth the reward. |
