Joe Tank Road
JT Road is the same one that takes one to the popular "Los Caballos Trail #638" but more importantly this a great place for primitive car camping with perfect cell service just outside of town.
I meandered in the juniper flats of Bagnal Draw, no elk but came across a band of feral horses which I find more intriguing than the typical cattle herd one may find elsewhere.
Made a little 3 1/2 mile loop and back to the car it was and on to the next spot.
Pinedale Ridge
I was originally going to glass this whole area from above and see what looked promising and head down into the canyons but after seeing a marked trail on topo I figured I would give it a shot. Topo maps call it the "Cottonwood Trail" which makes me wonder what its modern day name is, no official sign where I started but the entire trail is marked with white diamonds and is apparently part of the "White Mountain Trail System".
I did not follow it all the way but it appears this trail links up to the "Juniper Ridge Trail" which is of course on HAZ, if one could set u a shuttle it could make for a solid and easily doable day loop hike utilizing the two.
Aripine
Little exploration off of FR 332 because visually this area just looks so inviting, lots of private property and million dollar ranches but also still plenty of public land to explore best saved for another day.
Tonto Creek
Made a final stop to one of my favorite spots, set up the hammock and finally took the camera out for some much needed tripod time.
