| partners | | I knew it would be "early" by seasonal standards to visit this area but I didn't care much about that and just wanted a nice mellow hike with water, cooler temps and lots of wildlife.
Met up with Buford on the Rim and headed up to our non traditional entry point into the canyons because I had scavenger hunt goals I wanted to accomplish.
An abundance of water, pleasant benches and well used game trails made for a very enjoyable day.
We scouted out some photo opportunities, had a nice lunch and then rested up while waiting for the sun to set.
Made a direct and steep 10 minute 300ft+ climb straight out the canyon just before complete darkness that worked out perfectly, from there it was a little road walking to the truck and a great day in the woods came to an end.
