Just like Sycamore Creeks there are many Bear Canyons all throughout Arizona and after looking at this one on the map it seemed worthy enough of a quick early morning trip.

I didn’t make it to the headwaters like I wanted because I had to go to work but satellite imagery of lush green riparian trees make perennial groundwater plausible.

Came across a dozen elk foraging and remnants of a couple dead ones inside the canyon.

I’ll always enjoy that stepping into a canyon is like going into a whole other world different from the nearby environment and even this little Bear Canyon was a prime example.
