This was not the plan. Improvise, adapt and overcome. Something is better then nothing. I never cancel trips due to inclement weather...other people not so much. Whatev. Was dropped off about 6 miles from the summit on Forest Road 9300 just before dusk. Reconvened with the Prescott 4x4 Club at summit. What a great place with limited light pollution for a meteor shower car camp. We had a fairly clear night for starlight viewing while at the same time watching the lightening strikes from the monsoon storms over Phoenix.

We got slammed with heavy thunder showers around 3am.

Wildlife seen: 2 lime green toads, a tarantula, a scorpion.

Will definitely make a return trip on the northwest official route in the future, in the winter.
