Had not hiked in a while due to a bum knee (not sure what happened, torn miniscus? it band, idk...too stubborn to see a Dr.).

Was ready to start running a week ago but Walker & Senator are still very much a icy/snowy/muddy mess. Did not want to risk slipping. Threw on ski pants, ski jacket, gloves, beanie and backpack.... My 4-legged hike partner was mucho excited.. he knew we were going out for a good time..... howling just before launching. Eager to accept getting leashed up (very rare). County plowed our road and Poachers Row, a wonderful surprise.

Kept thinking about BobP and Bruno, the only HAZ'ers that has taken my north ridgeline turn off "Bosses Express" route. I was expected lots of wind...no wind... no clouds, just a perfect day to do a lame snow hike (I prefer blizzardy, white-out, snowy, rainy snow hikes). Had the mountain all to ourselves.

The tributaries feeding into the Hassayampa headwaters were flowing heavy.

Happy to see some new additions on "Cairn Alley" (whenever I tour guide friends on the Bosses route, I have them leave their mark). Did some trail maintenance of the route... will have to bring up a chain saw in the spring, to clear the numerous downed trees that have arrogantly thrown themselves on the trail.
