| no partners | | Well the snow has melted so I finally made it to 5057 up Hiero with Corey. ZERO cars in the lot when we got there! The water was really gushing. Everything was super green. Corey was impressed with the glyphs. I am always impressed by them. Near the last stretch going up, there was a bogus path someone cairned the heck out of, that was well below the actual trail, and was actually pretty sketch and slippery. Made great time up to the saddle. That climbing part just south of the peak is a lot of fun. Got to the top in 3 hrs exact. As we were up there, a group of 3 joined us and then a couple guys come from down below on the west side who got lost trying to continue on the ridgeline. We showed then the right way and hope they made it safe. Coming down was a breeze. I made sure to kick all those bogus cairns down. The view looking down canyon is spectacular. Tons of flowers all over. It is a crazy sight to come around the corner and see all the 4,000 people hanging out at the glyph area. Passed another 4,000 on the trail down. Excellent hike, excellent weather, excellent company. |
