Expectations were low for this hike so I was not disappointed, warmest day of the year so of course I’m on an ATV track with no shade, tread was soft sand like walking on the beach. Glad for the nice wide “trail” , after reading triplogs by Gummo did not realize this route was snake central, only saw one nonvenomous sunning itself. Few poppies and lupine, now seeing flowers on the hedgehogs and thistles. After paralleling FR 10 for a ways decided to turn around before making the actual junction .Did some policing on the return , was able to fit quite a bit of trash in a large polar pop cup. No other hikers ,passed by a convoy of 6 ATV’s. Besides the trailers at the trailhead only 2 other vehicles.
