| no partners | | Spent an afternoon exploring this beautiful beach. The recreation area is free, but everything west of the centerline of Salt Creek is private property. The property owner manages it for daily recreation or camping for a fee. So just stay east of the creek if you want to save money. Or if you want more solitude, pay to go on the private side.
There's great views here, nice geology, some WWII military history (formerly Camp Hayden), a couple of easy hikes, and even a solid hiking trail to Striped Peak. A worthy stop if you're ever in the area. |
