We went beyond Hope Camp and then just beyond the NPS boundary.
Fab scenery, plants and critters.
We saw:
Red Tailed Hawk (Western light morph)
Gila Monster
Jack Rabbit the size of a small dog
Phainopepla
Tarantula hawk
Carpets of Desert Zinnia and Sand Verbena, purple asters and ittty bitty yellow flowers.
Some very nice clumps of Hedge hog cacti as well.
Also I found my first cactus boot. YIPPEE! |
