Decided to get another hike in before the next rainstorm,from Picketpost Trailhead to Telegraph Canyon road is one of the easiest 9 mile hikes nearby. Also a very scenic and surprising for it’s Sedona like appearance, the best imho is from 2 to 4 miles from the Picketpost trailhead so you get to experience this twice on an out and back. You could also use a shuttle and park a vehicle at each end if returning the same way is not appealing. Again would thank the Americorps group for reconstructing the trail along here last year.A few spots are showing some wear from horse traffic and some sections will be quite muddy shortly after a rain.Did not see any cattle or horses today nor other wildlife. It appears the colorful foliage along the creek may stay around for a couple of weeks .
