| partners | | Well Grasshopper snagged us again with the tease of another Arch. Little did we know how many we would encounter, lost track, they were everywhere and every size, but the Mother of them all, the Tower Arch was the highest of them all. If you enjoy the smooth lichen covered rock of the Goldfields, this to us has so much more character and shapes that we enjoyed while in the Goldfields. We were on Grasshoppers route when Roger wanted to check out a spring he thought was across the creek, but as soon as we crossed we came upon a horse trail . Wait, this was noted on CannondaleKid's triplog of 2012, OK let's follow and come up the backside and meet up with Grasshopper's rte. But sad to say when we did meet up we didn't pay attention and missed going up to the saddle for the Tower Arch viewpoint . So we opted to miss Peak 4054 and go around and pick up his route on the way back to catch the Arch. So glad we did, but if you go, don't get discouraged if you can't see the Arch from the saddle, we thought what the hay where is it, route looked like it went down and around, which was precarious to do, I said let's go up a couple of shelves that were behind us and check it out, sure enough as we turned around and looked up there it was We'll be back out to explore Woods Canyon again for sure., Thanks Grasshopper for the idea and route. |
