| no partners | | | Early Bday surprise for Micah. Took a two hour trail ride through Garden of the Gods. We saw almost the whole park. We booked through Academy riding Stables. Weather and visibilty was great. Other than Manitou Incline being closed The Springs had tried to keep open spaces available and open. There is a lot less people for sure at every place we’ve been this week, but it is nice to get outdoors. I grew up riding having horses and spending a lot of time on Grandma’s farm. Micah on the other hand has been taking lessons on and off for some time, This particular outfit allows 8 year olds to ride by themselves so it was perfect for her birthday, most places require them to be 10 or 11 at least around here. She loved every minute and it was great to hit several trails I haven’t been on. There was definitely a lot of ups and downs and sections of trail I didn’t expect to ride on a horse. The 2 hour ride is geared toward intermediate and above. The shorter loop is geared toward beginners and is not as technical. She did great as she had a horse that was a little ornery. I tried riding up beside her a couple of times and ginger snap aka G Snap would whip my horse in the face with it’s tail, start galloping, or cut us off. Great day and surprise. It’s been nice on spring break with the Kids getting out. |
