Nice hike up the still snow covered icy trail for a picnic lunch at the kids request for PE. The piles have finally been burned after two years. Kids practiced proper lunch spot selection. Both had to find and choose a proper hiking stick to get down the frankly treacherous trail. Micah learned a lesson of actually putting extra layers in her pack and that the standard temp lapse rate is 2 degrees per 1000’ elevation gain as well as fundamentals of wind chill. :) No assignments during spring break, but everything can be a learning experience. BTW my kids packed and carried my lunch, water, and utensils!
