Went back to my favorite memories of this area with my son. We intended on starting up Sabino Canyon , go to hutches pool, then go along the az trail to
reddington road then back to Catalina highway in 5 days. We did that however the Sabino Canyon ranger told us Sabino creek was impassible with high water.
So we drove up to moline basin and started the hike there toward hutch's pool not knowing what to find at sabino creek . Fortunately a few people going the opposite
way said the creek was only a couple feet deep ! So we ended up at hutchs pool that night. So around 4am my son pushed me awake to the deep growl of some animal !
To date we don't know what it was, from what Ive looked at, could have been a bear, mt lion or smaller animal that sounds large. It was a deep growl/moan. Anyway we didn't
see or hear anything after exiting the tarp. Exciting. Then we headed back to the Sabino start via the telephone line trail, drove back up to Molino ! From Molino we headed on the
AZT to Reddingotn Rd and back in 3 days. Was nice weather water everywhere !
