| no partners | | Somewhat paradoxically, I felt the need to get some solitude. The lower portion of FR25 was packed with campers Grapes of Wrath style, leaving me skeptical of achieving my goal. But I arrived to an empty trailhead. Other than a disappointing encounter with a couple guys on dirt bikes within the Wilderness boundary (hopefully just ignorance), the trail was indeed my own. I stopped at Potato Patch and decided I felt like chilling there instead of continuing. On the return trip, I bumped into an AZT through hiker a month into her journey. Very cool. Wrapped it all up with a beer and burrito in the shade of a juniper. Mission accomplished. |
