| partners | | We started at Casner Tank and headed down Hog Hill to start. Having been to Winter Cabin via the namesake trail before, I was disappointed by this one in comparison. Rocky and exposed. Meh.
From the cabin things turned better for the rest of the loop. Except for one south-facing exposed section that was overgrown with prickly things, the rest of it was a pleasant hike in shady pines, interesting geology, great views, and just enough water to not have to worry about it.
We passed three different groups of people on the ascent up Kelsey and there were a few cars at the trailhead. The last mile and a half on the road back to Casner dragged on a bit but it was nice to make a loop out of it rather than shuttle. |
