| no partners | | Decided to try bagging another ultra since there was one so close. As long as I could get my car there... which turned out to be no problem (although I had to park in the campground).
The lower part of the trail is forested and mellow, with a running creek. Really a pretty area. The farther up the drainage you go, the steeper it gets.
Eventually I got to the end of the trail, and where you head up the deceiving long ridge. Not bad, steep, but not so steep that the talus isn't stable.
Obvious path the rest of the way to the summit. Based on the register it doesn't get a whole lot of traffic.
Outstanding view from the summit, and if you choose the right day, you might be able to do a double summit day with Wheeler. |
