| partners | | After a fun creek day in Payson, we headed over to Sedona to set up camp. Found a nice campsite off of FR 525 up a side road and enjoyed the sunset and some dinner. Set out early-ish to meet the rest of the crew at the TH. It was actually full at 8am, so we had a bit of trouble with parking, but luckily a few people were leaving. The hike was a tad bushier than last time I was here. It also felt steeper and harder, but that could have been the 5-6 white claws from the day prior leaving me a little sluggish. #noregrets - However, I was impaled by a tree branch in the bum on the way down. That left a nice bruise. FYI the “trail” is pretty exposed so plan your timing for early if you have trouble in the heat. The cave is a nice and cool place to hang out and relax! We had it to ourselves for an hour which was fun! Bit sketchy to enter the cave, best done in teamwork and I prefer the approach on the right side of the cave. |
