Sunset trip to Robbers Roost in Sedona. The road gets rough about 1ish miles from the TH and there is a parking area there as well. This adds ~2 miles to your hike, unless you have 4x4, lotsa clearance and good tires. The road is rocky walking in and small incline heading in. It’s a short hike to robbers roost from there, some ups and downs, but a well defined trail. There is one spot that’s a tad sheer when you’re approaching the cave. Most would be fine, good grip on shoes would help. Although we passed a good amount of people exiting, we pretty much had the cave to ourselves and watched the sunset. :y: We had enough light getting off the trail and only got a tad dark when we were walking the road. It’s a nice quick little hike and really cool views! It was supposed to be our add on hike, but we ended up finding an epic campsite off the beaten path that had perfect hammock trees. I’ve always wanted to hammock in Sedona, and I was excited and enjoyed a few white claws and relaxed in the hammock a bit too long. Totally fine with me. Turned out to be an excellent day with nice hike/relaxation combo. :D
