| no partners | | This hike isn't currently posted as a hike, and it's nothing terribly special, but I enjoyed it. It involved taking the TH not on the south end of the parking lot which parallels 40th St., but rather taking the other TH on the west end of the parking lot. From there you head toward the mountain facing you to the west that is before you.
Once summitting, there are a couple of nice places on the rock where you can stretch out and get a tan, take a nap, whatever you're looking for...as these slabs of slick, flat rock form perfect lookouts. While up there I watched a roadrunner run around, and then fly short distances back off the peak. |
