For some odd reason I had never been here before, and with a couple of hours free on Wednesday afternoon, I figured this would be worth checking out.

I'm not sure why, but Bartlett was releasing water at over 1000cfs so the river was well-above its normal height and moving along at a healthy clip. We even spotted a couple of folks kayaking.

I didn't notice any photos in the HAZ database of the car that tried to land on the needle and failed in epic Dukes of Hazzard style, but it seems to have been there for a while. It was once a pickup truck and had skid plates that didn't really help since it landed upside down.

When there's nobody else here, this place is all right. When that happens is anybody's guess.
