Went on an afternoon hike at the Needle Rock Recreation Area (33.767479 -111.669717) on the Verde River with 11 year old Grandson Michael. Had fun doing some off-trail exploring in the dense jungle along the river bank. Saw a couple of wild horses but birds were being scarce. Michael's sharp eyes spotted a couple of Black Phoebe sitting on a branch on a small island in the river. It was a fun afternoon.
