I had heard that there were Harris Hawks that frequented the intersection of Scottsdale road and Shea so I headed over there this morning. I parked in the shopping center on the NE corner and saw one right away on a pole along Shea. It was not sitting at a good enough angle to get a good shot. It flew off a few minutes later. I walked around for a few minutes trying to stay warm on this cold cloudy morning. Then heading back toward Shea two more were sitting on another pole. one flew off but I was able to get some good shots of the one left before it flew off. Then I drove down to Mccormick Ranch and checked out the action there. Despite the weather it was a productive day.
