| no partners | | | A neighbor asked me to join him so we could use my 4X4 truck on a hike not too far from our house. We took Dynamite east past Alma School and turned north or left on 118th street for 1 mile. At this point we took a right for about 1/2 a mile to the end of the rail fence that runs along a golf course. Parked and walked up (north) the dirt service road to the power lines. At this point you can see Balanced Rock about .3 miles away to the north between what I think are Little Granite Mo and Granite Mo. (not to be confused with the Granite Mountain in Prescott). The dirt service road under the power lines is labeled #2. We followed it east for a short time and then bushwhacked north the .3 miles to the Rock. Once I get the pics out of the camera I'll post. This is an easy short hike with a nice destination. Would be nice for out of town guests to get a good feel for the desert. Too bad the power lines are part of some of the views. |
