Wasson is higher than Estrella Peak yet feels lower due to the base valley being a lot higher. Despite this, the summit has Saguaro nearly to the top. I had forgot that I like hiking here, and it makes a nice easy hike compared to nearly vertical Catalina front range hikes. At 4800', it was still chilly, but it is probably nice up here when it is hot down low.

Quiet out here, and it felt like I was in the Estrella in a lot of ways. No urban sounds as you can get on SoMo, and even on some Catalina summits. Only a few jets, which is far less than Piestewa at a similar time of day. Sunny, clean cool air. It's an urban hike, but not quite so. Very nice.
